Courage Over Fear Pt 3

In this section of Scripture, the Israelites are standing at the Jordan River, ready to enter the Promised Land. God tells the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant to step into the water. As soon as their feet touch the river, the water stops flowing, and the people cross on dry ground.

Devotional Thoughts:
The Jordan did not part while everyone stood safely on the shore. The priests had to step into the water first.

That is a critical picture of faith. Sometimes God gives direction before He shows us the outcome. We want the path to open first, but God asks for obedience first. The miracle came after they stepped in.

The Ark represented God’s presence, and it went ahead of the people into the river. Israel was not stepping into uncertainty alone. God was already leading them.

There may be areas in your life where you are waiting for everything to make sense before you move. But faith does not always come with complete clarity. Sometimes it looks like taking the next obedient step while trusting God to handle what you cannot control.

God may not remove every obstacle before you move, but His presence goes with you into it.

Practical Application:

• Identify one step of obedience you have been delaying because you are waiting for more certainty.
• Ask, “What has God already made clear that I need to act on?”
• Stop requiring the whole plan before taking the next step.
• Remember that God’s presence goes before you, even when the path still looks difficult.
• Take one practical step today toward what God has called you to do.

Father, thank You for everything You have placed in my hands. Help me not to waste, hide, or compare what You have given me. Give me courage to use my gifts, resources, and opportunities faithfully. May my life bring You honor, and may I one day hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” In Jesus’ name, Amen.
