Devotional Reading: Hebrews 11:6 NIV
Devotional Reading
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
Hebrews 11, often called the “Hall of Faith,” highlights men and women who trusted God against all odds. This verse makes it plain: faith is not optional in the Christian life; it is essential. To please God, we must believe two things: first, that He exists, and second, that He responds to those who pursue Him wholeheartedly.
Faith is not blind optimism or wishful thinking. The writer of Hebrews roots faith in God’s character. Just as Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and Sarah acted in obedience because they trusted God’s promises, we too are invited to step into daily situations with confidence that God is real and active. Faith pleases God because it shows we rely on Him instead of ourselves.
Believing He rewards those who seek Him doesn’t mean expecting an easy life or instant answers. Instead, it’s the assurance that God will meet us with His presence, provision, and peace as we continue to seek Him. Faith anchors us when life feels uncertain and fuels us to keep moving when answers seem delayed.

Practical Application
- Start with small steps of trust
- Identify one area where you’ve been relying on yourself and intentionally hand it over to God in prayer.
- Seek Him daily
- Spend time daily reading the Word of God and praying. Make it a habit, not just when life is challenging.
- Keep a faith journal
- Write down answered prayers and ways God has provided to remind yourself of His faithfulness.
Devotional Prayer
Father, I thank You that You are real and that You reward those who seek You. Help me to trust You more and to live each day in faith. Strengthen my heart so that my choices reflect confidence in Your promises, not fear of the unknown. May my faith bring joy to You and light to those around me. Amen.
