Courage

After Moses’ death, God speaks to Joshua and tells him it is time to lead the people forward into the land He promised. Again and again, God tells Joshua to be strong and courageous.

Devotional Thoughts:
Joshua was stepping into a new season he had never led before. Moses was gone. The responsibility was now his. The assignment was bigger than his experience, and the future was uncertain.

But God did not begin by giving Joshua every detail. He began by reminding him of His presence and His promise.

Courage is not pretending you are not afraid. Biblical courage is obeying what God has made clear even when obedience scares you.

Joshua did not need to know everything that would happen next. He needed to trust the God who had already gone before him. God’s promise was simple: “I will be with you.”

There are seasons when God calls us forward before we feel fully ready. A new responsibility, a difficult decision, a change in direction, or an unfamiliar assignment can make us want to stay where things feel safe. But faith does not require complete understanding before obedience.

Sometimes the next season begins with one courageous step.

Practical Application:

• Identify one area where fear has been keeping you from moving forward.
• Focus on what God has already made clear instead of demanding every detail.
• Remind yourself that God’s presence is greater than your uncertainty.
• Take one obedient step today, even if you do not feel completely ready.
• Pray for courage to follow God’s direction instead of staying comfortable.

Father, thank You that I do not have to face new seasons alone. When I feel uncertain or unprepared, remind me that You are with me. Give me strength to obey what You have made clear and courage to move forward even when I cannot see the entire path. Help me trust Your presence more than I trust my fears. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
