Psalms 8:4 NIV
"What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?"
Reflection
Have you ever stood under a vast night sky, gazing up at the stars, and felt small? The writer of Psalm 8 did. As David looked up at the wonders of creation, he asked, “What is mankind that you are mindful of them?” In other words, who am I that the God who made all this would think about me? And yet, He does.
This verse reminds us of a powerful truth: You are not forgotten. The God who shaped the galaxies is mindful of you. That word “mindful” in Hebrew suggests continual awareness. You are on God's mind, not occasionally, not when you get everything right, but always.
And more than just thinking about you, the verse goes on to say, He cares for you. That’s not distant, formal care. It's intimate. It’s the kind of care that shows up in the details of your day, the parking spot you found, the encouraging word from a friend, the strength to endure one more meeting, one more hard conversation.

Practical Application
Start your day remembering that you are on God’s mind.
When you wake up, say aloud: “God is thinking about me right now.” Let that truth ground you before you pick up your phone or scroll the news.
Look for evidence of His care.
Keep a “God Remembers Me” journal this week. Write down small moments that remind you He sees you, big or small.
Extend that same care to someone else.
Text a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while. Remind them: “God is thinking about you today. So am I.” You never know how much someone needs to hear that.
