Red Flags Pt. 4

Devotional Reading:  Ephesians 4:26-27

Devotional Reading

Anger itself is not sin; it's a God-given emotion designed to alert us when something is wrong. Even Jesus experienced righteous anger when the temple became a marketplace. The issue isn't the emotion; it's who controls it. When we allow anger to dictate our responses, we open doors to destruction and give the enemy a foothold in our lives. Today, recognize that feeling angry doesn't make you ungodly, but staying angry and acting rashly does. God has equipped you with the Holy Spirit to regulate your emotions. The question isn't whether you'll feel anger, but whether you'll surrender control of that anger to God. Real strength is controlled strength.

Devotional Prayer

Father, in Jesus Name, I ask that you help me handle my anger in a way that honors You. When I feel hurt or frustrated, keep me from reacting in ways that damage relationships or open the door to bitterness. Teach me to pause, pray, and respond with wisdom. Give me the humility to forgive quickly and the courage to have healthy conversations. I refuse to let anger take root in my heart. Guard my mind and protect my peace. I choose grace over grudges and healing over hostility. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
