Devotional Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:12 (NLT)
Devotional Reading
"The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.”
Devotional Thought:
Paul uses the human body to explain how the church should function. Every part is different, yet every part is necessary. The eye cannot do the work of the hand, and the foot cannot replace the ear. In the same way, God has given each believer a unique role, gift, and purpose within the body of Christ.
The church is strongest when every person serves faithfully in the place God has assigned them. Comparison weakens unity because it causes us to overlook the value of what God placed in us. We do not need everyone to look alike, think alike, or serve alike. We need every person to contribute with humility and love.
You may feel that your role is small, but there are no unimportant parts in Christ’s body. Your faithfulness helps the whole body grow.

Practical Application
- Thank God for the gifts and role He has given you.
- Look for one practical way to strengthen or support another believer.
- Commit to serving consistently so the body of Christ can function well.
Devotional Prayer
Father, thank You for making me part of the body of Christ. Help me value the gifts You have placed in me and appreciate the gifts of others. Show me where I can serve faithfully, strengthen unity, and help Your church grow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
