First Things First Pt. 1

Jesus's invitation to "seek first His kingdom" isn't about adding God to our already-full lives; it's about reorganizing everything around Him. When we prioritize God's kingdom and His way of doing things, we discover a liberating truth: we don't have to chase after security, provision, or purpose. These things are added to us. Today, consider what competes for first place in your heart. Is it your career, relationships, or financial security? God doesn't want to be part of your life; He wants to be the center. When He occupies that place, everything else finds its proper position. The question isn't whether God can handle being first; it's whether we trust Him enough to give Him that place.

How would your day look different if seeking God’s kingdom truly came before everything else?

Moving Forward: Your 2026 Challenge

As you reflect on today’s devotion, consider this four-part challenge for the year ahead:

1. Give God the first of your year with prayer and fasting
2. Give God the first of your month with tithes and offerings
3. Give God the first of your week with consistent church attendance and Sabbath rest
4. Give God the first of your day with Scripture, worship, and prayer

The principle is simple but powerful: when you give God the first, He blesses the rest.
A fruitful year does not happen by accident; it happens by alignment.

Step into 2026 with intention, trust God with what matters most, and watch how He responds to your obedience.

Father, I commit 2026 to You. I choose to put You first, not as an addition to my life, but as its foundation. Give me the discipline to seek You daily, the faith to honor You with my resources, and the wisdom to rest in Your presence. Make this year different because I am different. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
